Research & academic work

Academic research in information systems, a published conceptual paper on organisational architecture, and a continuing line of enquiry into how organisations adapt.

Development of Gamification Model for Personalized E-Learning

Completed at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife as part of an MSc in Information Systems.

The work developed a gamification model for personalised e-learning, treating game mechanics as part of the learning design rather than a reward layer.

The resulting model was implemented as a working e-learning environment built with WordPress.

Presented as completed academic research. No claims are made regarding journal peer-review, citation or external validation.

Adaptive Organisational Engineering: Bounded Adaptability as a Principle of Organisational Architecture

Afvensu Enoch Ibisu · 2026

Adaptive Organisational Engineering (AOE) is an integrative organisation-design discipline concerned with the deliberate construction and continuing renewal of the architecture through which complex human systems produce outcomes. It proposes Bounded Adaptability as its governing design principle: relative stability for purpose, protected commitments, governance, interfaces, critical standards and defined outcomes, with adaptability preserved in methods, workflows, tools, internal structures and local practices.

AOE is presented as a conceptual framework. The paper states that its propositions and constructs require further refinement and empirical testing; no claims are made here regarding peer review, validation or established practice.

Where the work goes next

Continuing development of Adaptive Organisational Engineering: sharpening its constructs, and designing the empirical testing that would be needed to examine whether Bounded Adaptability holds as a design principle in practice.

This is stated as intent rather than completed work. Any further outputs will be listed here once published.
